Harborview Medical Center's Mental Health and Addiction Services has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time MENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER. Under general supervision, the Mental Health Practitioner provides psychiatric assessments in hospital emergency rooms or community settings. This position also provides community contact to those patients who are suspected to be in need of psychiatric assessment due to evidence of reported risk by persons in their support system. This position provides community outreach support to all the Recovery Case management teams in the clinic.
This position is responsible for implementing the goals of the program, which are to promote community stability of patients by engagement in mental health services and treatment planning as well as assistance in securing and maintaining housing, benefits and culturally relevant treatment to meet their needs, and to assist patients in developing meaningful and productive activities. The Mental Health Practitioner will be expected to be able to work with a wide variety of patients.

REQUIREMENTS:
A Master's Degree in behavioral sciences, such as psychology, psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy, vocational or educational counseling, or social work OR Bachelor's Degree in nursing or a behavioral science AND three years' of experience in the direct delivery of professional mental health care.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/ registration.
DESIRED:
Appropriate clinical licensure or registration in the State of Washington.
Fluency in Spanish.
