Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is looking for qualified individuals to apply for the Staff Clinician position and join our energetic, multidisciplinary, culturally-informed collaborative team of mental health professionals. This clinical staff member of CAPS will serve the needs of students at University of Cincinnati, in the College of Law and Graduate College. This position would serve the College of Law and Graduate College at the University of Cincinnati, and be a member of the Counseling and Psychological Serves (UC-CAPS) team. Under general supervision from a designated administrator, provide direct clinical counseling services to onsite and online College of Law students as well as Graduate students. Develop and provide outreach to these college communities, and build a supportive community for the academic success and well-being of students.

The Graduate College manages the University of Cincinnati's graduate education process from enrollment to graduation. With over 390 graduate degrees and certificates, we partner with programs and play a critical role in providing support for student success, student support, and student retention.

Essential Functions
  • Provide direct counseling services to university students (College of Law and Graduate College), including intake, evaluation, counseling, and emergency/crisis management.
  • Provide consultation to university community regarding counseling needs.
  • Develop and provide outreach to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Serve as liaison for counseling center to the university community and community agencies.
  • Participate in training program(s) within the counseling center. · Develop and coordinates programs within the counseling center.
  • Collect data for program coordination.
  • Keep abreast of developments in professional field, related to student mental health, cultural competency and equitable access to services.
  • Represent the department on committees.
Required Education

Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling, or Doctorate Degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD).

Required Trainings/Certifications
  • Must be independently licensed or licensed eligible as a psychologist, social worker, or clinical counselor in the State of Ohio, with the ability to supervise in their discipline.
  • License must be achieved within six (6) months of date of employment.
Required Experience

Three (3) years of clinical experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Experience working in a college or university counseling center or other academic environment. ·
  • Experience working as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Familiarity working with under-represented students and students from marginalized groups.
  • Experience with the rigors of graduate studies.
  • Experience with the rigors of law/professional studies
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed interventions
  • Experience treating substance misuse and addictions
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
