The Town of Rocky Mount is seeking an enthusiastic host for our Community & Hospitality Center located in the historic train depot. The host position works part-time greeting visitors to our community, while providing information about the town, businesses, events, and attractions in our area. Day to day activities include maintaining the Depot's welcoming appearance, scheduling public and private events, providing literature and information about attractions, offering clerical and operational support, and other duties as assigned. The Community & Hospitality Center is scheduled to be open year around. Days of operation will be Wednesday – Friday 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 pm, and Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Closed Sunday – Tuesday.) The ideal candidate will be expected to be outgoing, personable, flexible (on-call as needed), self-motivated, dependable, prompt, and trustworthy. Applicant must demonstrate both a current and historic knowledge of the Town of Rocky Mount and Franklin County, including information on local history, attractions, restaurants, events, and community activities.
