Staff Psychologist
The University of Notre Dame seeks a Staff Psychologist in Notre Dame, Indiana.
Duties:
- Provides broad range of behavioral health and psychological services to University students, especially students from Asian cultures.
- Such services include individual and group counseling, initial and ongoing psychological assessment, planning and implementing treatment interventions, and managing crisis situations.
- Utilizes cutting edge therapeutic approaches including therapist assisted online interventions and biofeedback.
- Consults as needed with members of the University community and other health professionals especially regarding ethnically diverse students.
- Provides supervision and training to doctoral psychology interns in UCC Doctoral Internship Program in Health Services Psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.
- Provides outreach programming and consultation services to faculty, staff, and students with a special emphasis on students from Asian cultures.
- Rotates after hours emergency coverage for weeklong periods, approximately 4-5 times per year including telephone and on-site psychological consultation with students in crisis.
Requirements:
Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from a doctoral program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
The equivalent of two full-time years of experience, including an APA accredited doctoral internship in one of the following areas:
Health Services Psychology, Professional Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology.
Experience must also include:
- working in a university counseling center with a specialty in working with ethnically diverse students from Asian cultures, individual and group counseling, interventions such as therapist-assisted online approaches and biofeedback;
- the conduction of initial and ongoing psychological assessments for college age students;
- management of crisis situations; the provision of supervision to psychologists-in-training in an APA accredited program;
- computer technology skills in electronic record keeping.
The non-internship experience may be obtained through practicum experiences while enrolled in the doctoral program. Licensed or license-eligible as a health service provider in psychology in the State of Indiana, board certified in biofeedback. Fluent in English and Mandarin.
