General Summary

Talwar College of Engineering and Computer Sciences is seeking qualified individuals to join our adjunct hiring pool to express their interest in future, part-time teaching undergraduate courses assignments at Indiana Tech. This is a part-time position for teaching undergraduate courses focused in the cybersecurity area. Additional course from other areas of computer science may also be assigned. This position is for both online teaching and face-to-face teaching at the Fort Wayne campus.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Course goals and objectives are set by the dean. Additionally:
  • Teach as needed in online / remote programs.
  • Conduct a one hour live lecture each week of the course.
  • Attend remote training and online faculty meetings, generally once a semester.
  • Fulfill teaching requirements and evaluates student performance as outlined in course objectives and Indiana Tech Policy & Procedures.
  • Demonstrates and maintains current subject area knowledge.
  • Establishes and maintains an engaging and supportive classroom environment.
  • Maintains student grades, and other records according to the guidelines of the College of Professional Studies at Indiana Tech and submits them in a timely manner.
  • Develops innovative teaching pedagogies to facilitate learning.
  • Incorporates high-impact teaching practices into course design, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize workflow.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of Masters Degree in Cybersecurity or related field required.
  • Experience in Cybersecurity, Networking, Software Design, and/or Cybersecurity related fields preferred.
  • Five or more years' industrial/field experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, implementing a variety of teaching strategies.
  • Effective communication skills (interpersonal, speaking, and writing).
  • Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment at Indiana Tech online campus.
  • Respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs.
  • Proficiency with technology.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing and teaching online courses.
  • Preferred previous teaching experience preferred.
  • Certifications or experience with CompTIA, EC-Council, ISC2, GIAC or Microsoft preferred.
Working Conditions

Face-to-Face classes, work is normally performed in a typical classroom environment.

Online classes, work is performed in an online/remote working environment. Scheduling of work supporting online students must be flexible to accommodate student learning. Timely response to students is expected. Candidate must be able to provide own sufficient and secure internet connectivity, as well as work environment in which confidentiality and productivity can be maintained. Candidates will not be provided with a computer and must own or have access to a Windows-based computer.
