Child/Adolescents Clinical Psychologist
Summary
This position is located at the Mental Health Department in the Naval Hospital, Pensacola Florida. The selectee performs a full range of duties within clinical psychology specialization, in accordance with standard and generally accepted theories, techniques, methods and practices of the field of child and adolescent psychology. The selectee assumes full responsibility for the soundness and validity of recommendations, reports and psychological treatment services.
Responsibilities
- You will serve as a consultant to referring and treating professionals, groups, agencies, and individuals in the area of clinical child and adolescent psychology.
- You will perform and participate in the consultative, evaluative, treatment planning and treatment activities provided by the clinic to children, adolescents, parents, families and community agencies.
- You will provide ongoing clinical evaluation and treatment planning consultation to multi-disciplinary professional groups and agencies.
- You will provide program management and supervision for a full range of psycho-diagnostic testing.
- You will serve as a consultant to other staff members in the administration of psychological testing.
- You will maintain electronic records of each patient.

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of clinical psychologist experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: independently evaluating, diagnosing and assessing children and adolescent disorders, (i.e., autism, children/adolescents traumatized by sexual abuse, depression, anxiety); applying psychological theories, principles to explain, or justify psychological diagnoses, conclusions, findings or treatment recommendations.
Selective Placement Factors: This position has selective placement factors that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factors are:
1. Possession of a permanent, full and unrestricted clinical psychologist license issued by a state, District of Columbia,the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
2. Completion of 1-year American Psychological Association (APA) accredited clinical internship; OR completion of 1-year clinical internship NOT American Psychological Association (APA) accredited, but you completed an APA- accredited postdoctoral residency or fellowship or have attained board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP); OR previous employment as a Clinical Psychologist commissioned/employed in the Navy prior to March 27, 2015 and has completed 1-year clinical internship training program NOT American Psychological Association (APA) accredited.
3. Completion of a 1-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology or the equivalent in specialized training and supervised practice.
